The United states should get involved with the the North Korean torpedo attack on South Korean ships.

The United states should get involved in this conflict because it was a completly unneccasary attack that killed 46 sailors and sunk one of their largest military ships. However, I think South Korea should cut off trade and sanction North Korea before we get involved. If North Korea continues bombing and haraasing South Korea the United States and other world powers and countries need to sanction North Korea until they come to agreement and will stop. The article states "It is important to send a clear message that provoative actions have consequences." I agree and think North Korea should have consequences for causing this unneccasary terror in South Korea.

School is coming to an end as the warm summertime is approaching.. The trees are blooming and the grass green. The sun beats down on me and I know that the dreadful school days will soon be over .

I love summertime it is by far my favorite season. Everyday is so stress free and you can be hang out with friends and not worry about getting your homework done. I love the sunsjhine and being able to cool of in the refreshing pool.

What I am looking forward to most this summer is the Livonia Spree. I love going there with my friends in the hot afternoons to ride rides and meet new people. Our favorite rides are the fireball, the water ride, and race down the big slides. At night time we go to the food area of the spree to watch shows and get some delicious carnival food. Candy apples, ice cream, elephant ears, freshly squeezed lemonade and pierogies. These are some of my favorite foods to get at the spree. My favoriite day of this festival is the spree fireworks on the last day, Sunday. Me and a bunch of my friends get there around 6 on sunday evening about 4 hours before the fireworks begin. We arrive early to get a good spot on the baseball field to watch the firework show. We set up our blankets and chairs, get snacks, play games then sit back and relaxe to watch the show.

Last summer I had to miss some of the spree because my soccer team went to regionals and it was hosted during most of the carnival. Although it had been worth it to miss the spree because my team had won regionals. We had been named the best team in the midwest region. We beat teams from all different states in this region, South Dakota, Kentucky Nebraska. In the semifinals we played a teram from Illinois called Eclipse. Thy were good and agressive but we won in the end 1-0. In the Finals we played carmal form Indiana. This was the hardes game i had ever played in they were athletic, so fast and skilled. Although we were all very nervous we were ready and defeated Carmel and were crowned regional champiions.

I thought SIMUN was a fun but unfamiliar experience. I have never done anything like SIMUN and I wasnt sure what to expect. I didnt know how to prepare myself or what I would be speaking about. Although i was very nervous and scared to speak i ended up speaeking more than i expected and understood the scenarios and how Mexico would be included in them. I also met alot of new people from all grades, they were very supportive and helpful. I also got a little taste of hpw the real United Stations would run their meetings.

I did much better then I thought I would. Going into SIMUN I thought I was going to be to scared to talk and not understand the scenarios but i ended up presenting about 7 or 8 speeches and multiple questions. Also I actually understood what I was talking aboout in my speeches and really got involved about how Mexico would take part in the scenarios. So overall i believe i did pretty well but would still like to improve for next year.

To prepare Mrs. B assigned four questions to each even group that realted to the scenarios that would be presented in SIMUN. The questions allowed me to think of how Mexico would be involved in situations across the world and what they would do about it. I had to think from a Mexican goverment member's perspective. I also researched alot of information about Mexicos history but the major conflict i had to understand about Mexico was the violent drug wars between the unrurely cartels and innocent U.S. and Mexico's citizens and police.

To prepare for next year i am going to research even more about Mexico because during the debates I felt a little lost and needed more background information about Mexico and how the info would effect the scenario. I would also research how the Mexican government works and who their allies are so iIwould be confident in choosing sides for the scenarios.

Overall I thought SIMUN was a great new experience and I am excited to do even better next year,

If the United States accepted Pakistan Mexico would agree with this so we could secure nuclear weapons and keep the world safe. Also the U.S. is an allie and if we were in agreement with us and we supported them they would probably comsider helping us with the rug conflict back in Mexico.

Alot of other countries would decide against this because its a country and they ned to be able to run their own governmant and people without any other countries interferring. But before the United States over runs pakistan they should negotiate with them about securing their nuclear power. If they are not cooperating and they are using their nuclear power as a threat against other countries then world power countries need to tell them to stop immediatly. If they still do not cooperate then we must go to further measures and place sanctions on Pakistan. Powerful countries including China and the United States and pakistans major trading partners must take part in these sanctions in order for the sanctions to be successful.

If Pakistan decides to ignore the other countries demands and sanctions and is violently threatening other countries with their nuclear power that is when the U.S. should go into Pakistan an secure the nuclear material . When situations like this become a huge threat to the world thats when countries need to take charge and stop this before something extreme happens and negatively impacts the whole world.

Soldier X

Soldier X Is a narrative story which tells what it would have been like to be a child soldier for the german side, Hitler youth, in World War 2.

World War 2 was faught very differently from how wars are fought in modern day america. Today we do not allow children in wars you have to be 18 to join the army. Although many times in the past we have used children as soldiers such as in the Civil War. They were also led by a dictatot that made them think this way of life was the best to live by and accept no one elses. This is a major cultural difference becaue we have or had no such dictator leadership. Since history we have lived by a democratic system.

Also around the time of World War 2 there were alot of immigrants settling in Germany, Russian, Irish and more. Germany was very diverse at this time. At some point in history in america we also had alot of immigrants and were a very diverse country. This immigration caused trouble for both countries. For the United states is caused over populating and for germany it caused conflicts between the citizens because of their vast differences.

The houses that the main character lived in and described are small houses, the lower floor is the family's shopand the upper level is the living quarters. Houses in the United states were designed similiar to this in the 18oo's. the kids usually worked in the shops on the lower level in america slaves may have been present in homes but in Germany slaves were noot usually a popular labor, they usaully had butlers our mades or just help from the family.

This book just tells a war story so i could not find many cultural ifferences but these were some examples that are similiar or different to past events in the Unoted states.

Winter Olympics

It is the year of the winter olympics and I cant wait to watch people from all over the world to compete in the unique winter games. This year it is held in Vancouver Canada. I see Vancouver as the perfect winter wonderland for the games. It is beautiful and has many mountains which can be used for luge and skiing. It is a large city with many complexs for ice skating and other indoor sports there are also many hotels for the spectators to stay. http://www.vancouver2010.com/
The sports that are played in the winter olympics are quite unigue and really interest me because of the danger skill and bravery you must have to participate in these sports. It is very different from the summer games where sports like soccer basketball track etc. are played. The winter olympics includes luge, ski jump, figure skating, speed skating, snow boarding and more. All the require trmendous skill and no fear because of the extremes you may have to exceed in these sports to win the gold.
One of my favorite sports would have to be speed skating. Its not only the intensity of the quick race when the participants are on their final laps but the sucees of two american athletes who races I love to watch. Shani Davis Apollo Ohno and J.R. Celski being among these american athletes have won many of the races beating out the other countrie. Apollo seems to have a certain strategy to his race, during the last couple laps hewaits for the others to make a mistake and quicly takes with the inside or outside lane when thand is immediatly passes them all and wins the gold. Shani davis is just pure quickness and has a perect stride to hi skating. He reminds me of Frozone from the Incredibles. J.R. Celski had a fatal injury and came back and raced very successfully in his races.
Another one of my favorite sports is luge. I think this is one of the most dangerous and incredible sports in the olympics because of the unbelievably high speeds that are exceeded and the ability to hit each turn without crashing while at these speeds. The track they use at whistler is the fastes in the world reaching speeds at 100 mph. Unfortunatly because of this extreme track during a practice run a georgian athlete crashe on a turn and lost his life. This shows how dangerous this sport is and how you must be skilled and fearless to take part in luge.
I also like Snowboarding mainly because of Shaun White's amazing ability, nicknamed flying tomato. He dominates everyone in this sport doing unbelievable tricks on the halfpipe and landing each one of his flips and twists. He won gold scoring a 46.2 because of his outstanding tricks that ordinary snowboarders dream of doing.

Sledding

It was a frigid winter day the grass was piled high with white sparkly snow and my friends and I were anxious to go out and enjoy it.

We wanted to live this winter day to the fullest. Have the best sledding adventure possible, but the only way to have such a sledding trip was to find the biggest mountain. we searched all of Livonia to find such a hill but when it wasn't found we decided to expand our search to different local cities then eventually throughout all of Michigan. We had finally came across huge hills in northern michigan which later, we found to be the sleeping bear dunes. This dunes were usually only occupied during the hot, swiltering summers but today instead of sand they were covered in snow and would be used for sledding instead of climbing.

We had the quickest sleds faster then any other kid and we couldnt wait to test them out. Taylor went first. She stood at the very top of the giant dune and looked out over the huge, iced over lake. she dived full force onto the sled and zipped straight down the hill. It was so fast she was like a blur to the rest of us watching and we couldnt wait to try it ourselves. So we climbed the mountain anxious to feel the cold wind slapping your face while speeding down the dune.

We went down over and over you couldnt get enough of this tremendous feeling it was like a rollercoaster. But we thought of a way that would make it even better. All of us went on two sleds piled ontop of eachother in a pyramid although the bottom girls were almost crushedand the top people wiped out it was still a blast. Many different ways to sled down the hill were being invented. The train, standing up and other crazy ideas that made our experience all the better.

Finally after a long fun day we were all exhausted. Gabe's mom arrived in a warm heated car and hot chocolate awaiting us. Although I would be sore and may have many bumps and bruises from this experience it was well worth it and I canyt wait to do it again.
